FAQs

Q: Do you accept returns on custom work?
A: Due to the made-to-order nature of custom work, we do not offer returns. However, we stand behind our craftsmanship with a quality guarantee.

Q: Is there a warranty?
A: Yes. All custom work includes a warranty that covers defects resulting from normal day-to-day use. We're here to ensure your piece holds up beautifully over time.

Q: Can you work with architects, interior designers, contractors, or art curaters?
A: Absolutely. We love collaborating with professionals. If you are a design professional, inquire about trade programs.

Q: What if I’m not located in Seattle?
A: That’s okay! We work with clients across the country. Shipping options are available, and we'll stay closely connected throughout the process via online meetings.

Q: What kinds of wood do you use?
A: We primarily work with solid hardwoods native to the Pacific Northwest, sourced from local Seattle suppliers, to support local ecosystems and reduce environmental impact. Upon special request, we can source exotic woods, though we approach this thoughtfully to ensure sustainability.

Q: What kinds of finishes do you use?
A: We love celebrating the natural colors of each wood species, applying mostly only penetrative oils or natural waxes. This means no staining or painting—so there's no risk of blotching, peeling or fading.

Q: Do I need to refinish my solid wood pieces over time?
A: Yes, regular maintenance helps preserve the beauty and longevity of your piece. Instructions for your specific piece will be provided upon project completion.

Q: Will wood change color over time?
A: Yes, most hardwoods will develop a richer patina as they age, some species more than others.

Q: Do you use woods with knots or other blemishes?
A: We love to intentionally incorporate these characteristics into our designs to highlight the individuality of each piece. For custom orders, we'll discuss these features with you to ensure they align with your aesthetic preferences.
